We understand that grief is personal, filled with anxiety, fear, and desire to just go back to the familiar lives we had before the loss showed up and changed everything. They tell us that "Time Heals" and we couldn't disagree more. It's what you DO with that time, that really makes the difference. Grief Incorporates into our lives as a part of the tapestry we display to the world. In order for the bright threads to appear more vibrant, the darker threads will be needed. We don't want a black tapestry, but as long as we stay isolated, angry, bitter, sad, depressed, numbing our emotions with the substances of our choosing, we remain in that darkness. There is always purpose in the pain. Grief is an amazing teacher to allow us to transform those raw and painful emotions we tend to carry. We allow those tormenting thoughts to control, lie to us, and lead us further into the abyss. Grief can get ugly, and it can also be transformed into a beautiful summit, if we are willing to turn around, face that challenging mountain, and climb to the top. You may be amazed at how so many, just like you, showed up here, broken-hearted, bleeding, bruised, and battered by the hurt and pain they carried.
