Service Description

Upcoming dates: Aug 19, Sept 16, Oct 21, Nov 18 | 6pm PT/ 7pm MST/ 8pm CT/ 9pm ET This group is for specifically for individuals 18-25 years old who have experienced a death loss - regardless of the relationship or cause of death. The goal is to hand these young, inspiring adults a new approach to grief. So many times we tell them to just give it time, eat something and you'll feel better, you can replace a friend, be strong, or worse, we tell them how they should feel. Tools for life is the goal here. Together, this generation will discover a healthier way to approach grief due to loss. There are over 40+ kinds of loss. All have been given a specific label: Grief can manifest in many different ways, including normal and abnormal patterns: Uncomplicated grief Also known as "normal" grief, this type of grief is most intense for about six months after a loss, but symptoms lessen over time. Anticipatory grief This type of grief is a response to an expected loss, such as when a loved one is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Inhibited grief This type of grief can occur when someone doesn't take time to process their feelings, which can lead to physical problems like panic attacks or trouble sleeping. Delayed grief This type of grief occurs when symptoms of distress are suppressed or postponed, and then appear much later than normal. Chronic grief This type of grief is when normal grief reactions continue for a very long time. Distorted grief This type of grief is characterized by extremely intense or atypical symptoms. Exaggerated grief This type of grief can include intense reactions like nightmares, phobias, delinquent behaviors, and thoughts of suicide. Masked grief This type of grief occurs when someone is unaware of behaviors that are interfering with their normal functioning as a result of the loss. Disenfranchised grief This type of grief occurs when someone experiences a loss that can't be openly acknowledged, mourned, or supported, such as the loss of a pet, a body part, or a loved one who has dementia or an addiction. Now, imagine going through 20, 30, 40, 50, 60+ years not having a full understanding about the grief process. We end up getting labeled, medicated, and it only gets worse as that so-called time we told them to give it just ticks on and on. Getting the right knowledge and tools to heal in a safe manner can avoid havoc as they can now go through their lives with confidence, freedom, and pain that loss can create.
